Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0 - Creating a wireless SSID

On the Wi-Fi SSIDs page, you can create and edit SSID profiles.  
 
  • By default, there are no SSID profiles until you create them.
  • A network can have unlimited SSID profiles on the Wi-Fi SSIDs page.
  • An access point device can have up to eight wireless SSIDs assigned to it on the Wireless SSID Slots page.
  • At any moment, an SSID can be associated with one or more access points.

1. Log in to the Linksys Cloud Manager. For instructions, click here.
 
2. Select an organization (if you have multiple organizations).  


3. From the Networks tab, select a network and click on Wi-Fi SSIDs from the ellipsis menu.

How to create an SSID

1. Click on New Wireless SSID or Create Wireless SSID.

If you do not have any SSID profiles created, you will see the following screen.  Click on Create Wireless SSID

If you have existing SSID profiles, click on New Wireless SSID.

2. Enter the SSID in the Name field.

3. Select Open or Password and click the drop-down arrow to select WPA2™ or WPA2 Enterprise.

If you select WPA2, enter a password or click on Generate secure password to generate a random password.  This password is 20 characters long and will have numbers and uppercase and lowercase letters.

The numbers “0” and ”1” and the letters “o” and “l” will not be used.

If you select WPA2 Enterprise, click on Configure RADIUS to enter or enable your settings.  Once you're done, click Continue

4. In the Broadcast section, click Change and select which access point to assign the SSID to.  By default, all the access points that are checked are part of the network you are currently in.

 You can also uncheck all the access points and assign the SSID to a device in the Wireless SSID Slots page of an access point.

5. Click Create
