Installing the Linksys LAPAC1300CW

The Linksys LAPAC1300CW AC1300 Cloud Managed In-Wall AP TAA Compliant is designed for rooms and is built to fit within a single gang outlet mounted onto a wall.

IMPORTANT: Improper or unsecured mounting could result in damage to the device or personal injury. Linksys is not responsible for damages caused by improper mounting or installation.

Before you begin:

  • Determine how you will power ON the access point BEFORE you wall mount it:
  • Option A: Use the Ethernet 1 802.3af/at PoE In port located on the back of the access point to power it ON using an 802.3af/at PoE+ connection (like a PoE injector or PoE switch).
  • Option B: Use a 12V, 1A power adapter (included only in the Linksys LAPAC1300CW-RTL packaging) and use the DC input located on the bottom of the access point.
  • You will need a Cat5e cable or a more advanced version.
  • If you plan to use the Ethernet 2 802.3af PoE Out port to power ON a PoE client device, make sure your access point is powered ON by an 802.3at PoE+ device.
  • Take note of the MAC address on the back of the access point which is the default SSID of the device if it hasn’t been associated yet with a Linksys Cloud Manager account.

In-wall Junction Box Installation

Step 1:
Place the narrow bracket over the junction box and secure the bracket in place using the screws from the junction box.

Step 2:
Attach the ethernet cable coming out of the junction box to the back of the access point.

Step 3:
Snap the access point onto the bracket until it locks into place. If you will be powering on the access point using the PoE port, make sure to connect an ethernet cable coming from your 802.3af/at PoE+ connection like a PoE Injector or PoE switch to the back of the PoE In port “Ethernet 1” before you fasten the access point.
