Rated 2 out of 5 by from A little better than disappointed Switched from Orbi 5 to the atlas 6E thinking would have blistering speeds. Setup was for the most part easy. I have the child nodes connected via cat 5e to the parent node (only way to place the nodes in the place that I wanted). You would think with the node s in a triangle pattern that everything would work great inside the triangle. Unfortunately my kitchen is inside the triangle and it feels like Bermuda triangle. Signal comes in and then gets lost. Poor reception 15 feet from the parent node. Outside it does a lot further than my previous Orbi. Exception is in the pool area that is only 50 feet from the parent node. It works but am extremely disappointed. Definitely not worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not play well with others (older velop nodes) I added this as a parent node and kept my two child mx5300 velop nodes. System was working great but I was looking to increase speed even more. Well, this parent node can’t reach the other nodes that previously had a great signal- in the exact same locations of parent and child nodes! I don’t know if it’s because they want you to buy all new nodes or what, but the distance this parent node can handle to next node is very poor compared to my previous setup. I was actually better off with the mx5300 as parent node and daughter nodes. I have set up and used four different velop systems for our homes and friends but this is the worst model I’ve used regarding reach of signal. Set up was easy but performance is poor. Constantly dropping connection to child nodes and all my smart devices connected to child nodes. Ugh so expensive also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More with less I replaced 10 EERO Pro 6 with 5 Linksys AXE8400 and so far I have better more reliable coverage

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Signal unable to punch through a single wall Weak signal between nodes when there is only 1 wall and 6 feet of air between nodes. Only way to get a strong signal between nodes is to power cycle after every system reboot and or power outage and this sometimes causes the router to give a device an IP that is completely off the IP range that is set with no internet connection. For some reason far nodes won’t connect to any node except the main node even if it’s the farthest node. No way to lock notes to connect to closes nodes. Had to purchase 2 3 node sets just to get coverage in a 2500sq ft house when a 3 pack states it can cover 9000sq ft. Looks like Linksys doesn’t go for continuous improvement of their products as there has not been a new firmware update in a long while. No new function or features like all their competitors. To link and netgear orbi seem to be more user friendly and have a lot more features and customizability to their product. Linksys used to be great but seems like their products lately have been disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LINKSYS VELOP MX8500 AX8400 3PK There were problems with setting up the mesh system, and after spending an hour on the phone with tech support setting the system up, the nodes periodically lost signal. The signal is super fast with the node that is used for the router, but all of the satellite nodes periodically drop signal, or provide extremely weak signal. I spaced the nodes in accordance with Linksys’ recommendations, and the unsatisfactory results were the same. After a week of daily spending at least an hour on the phone with Linksys Tech Support trying to diagnose the reason why the satellite nodes periodically lost signal, I returned the product for a full refund. Please don’t waste your money on this product. If you decide to risk your money on this product, make sure you keep all the original packaging, manuals, etc., so you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Velocity MX 8500. Very easy to configure and pair additional nodes. Speed is dizzying. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loss of synchronization The Velop MX8500 looses synchronization (timing) between nodes after an extended time of streaming music. This was proven by swapping two different Google play devices (JBL, Lenovo). Each time either device was connected to a child node, the streaming would become choppy after eight to ten hours. When either device was connected to the master node, the streaming would remain unaltered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid product Works very well. The LED light on top is a bit too bright at night, if the unit is your bedroom
