Overview of the Devices section of the Linksys app for Linksys Mesh systems

The Devices section within your Linksys app provides you with details about the devices that are currently connected to your network. This article will provide an overview of this section in the Linksys app. Click on each link below for details:

How to access the Devices section

1. Log in to the Linksys app dashboard.

2. Tap on the menu icon at the upper left side of the screen.

You will be directed to the Devices section, where you can view the total number of devices currently connected to your network. This includes Connected Devices, Connected Guest Devices, and Offline Devices.

Icon description

The following are descriptions of the icons that can be found in the Devices section:

 
sf50098-006_en_v3.png – This icon shows when a specific device is connected via WiFi.
sf50098-007_en_v3.png – This icon shows when a specific device is connected via ethernet.
sf50098-008_en_v3.png – Tapping on this icon allows you to make changes to a specific device's settings.
sf50098-009_en_v3.png – Devices with this icon have Parental Controls configured.
sf50098-010_en_v3.png – Devices with this icon have Priority configured.

Changing settings

Selecting a device will provide you with the option to view or edit specific details. Remember to tap on Save after making any changes.

Change device nameTap the name of the device to change the device name, then tap on Save.

WiFi nameThis section shows the WiFi name and radio band the device is connected to.

Underneath the WiFi name, you will see the node the device is connected to.

To change the name of your node/s, go to the Linksys app and tap on Network Administration.
Priority By Device and Parental ControlsThis section displays if Priority or Parental controls is enabled for the device. Tapping this section will route you to the Priority or Parental Controls section to make changes.

If you are having a problem with selecting devices for Priority or Parental controls when duplicate names are appearing, check if the device name appears in the Offline Devices section, tap Edit and delete the device with the duplicate names. You should now have a unique name for each device in the Connected Devices section. This may be due to devices having randomized MAC addresses or private WiFi address on default.
Wi-Fi / WiredIn this section, you will see the IP address and MAC address of your device. You can also tap on Reserve DHCP to reserve an IP address for the device

Reserving an IP address can take up to 1 minute. After an IP address has been reserved, you can tap Reserved IP and change the IP address if needed.
Device DetailsDisplays the device details of the client.
