Wemo Mini Product Shot

The Wemo Mini Smart Plug lets you control your electronic devices right from your phone or tablet. The Smart Plug uses the existing WiFi router of your home network to provide wireless control of lamps, heaters, fans, and more--with no subscription or hub required. Simply plug the Wemo Mini Smart Plug into an electrical outlet, plug a device into the Smart Plug, and control your device using the free Wemo app. Whether you’re unwinding on the couch or vacationing in the Caribbean, you’ll be able to remotely control your lights and appliances from anywhere in the world. Home automation at its best.

Wemo Mini Compact Footprint

With its sleek, compact form factor, Wemo Mini fits into any electrical outlet without obstructing other sockets. This allows you to stack an additional Wemo Mini or plug in another device in the same outlet.

Wemo Mini with Fan

Wemo Mini lets you easily set automatic schedules for any device that’s plugged in--from lamps to fans to space heaters. Using the free Wemo app, you can schedule a fan to turn on at noon, or synchronize a lamp with the sunset so you never come home to a dark house.

Wemo Mini with Lamp

With the ability to randomize your lights, Wemo Mini protects your smart home better than a mechanical timer. When set to “Away Mode,” the smart plug will turn plugged-in lights on and off randomly to make it appear like you’re home--even when you’re not.

Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home

Wemo Mini works seamlessly with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa to give you hands-free voice control over your devices. Pair Wemo Mini with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant built-in devices like Google Home to turn your lights, your appliances, or an entire room on or off with just the power of your voice.

Works with IFTTT

"If This, Then That" is a free web-based service that opens up an amazing array of possibilities for your Wemo Mini. Visit IFTTT.com to find "recipes" for making Wemo Mini turn lights on and off based on real-world events, send you push notifications about device activity, and much more.

Wemo App

When a light or appliance is plugged into a Wemo Mini Smart Plug, you can turn it off from your phone no matter where you are. You’ll never have to worry that you accidentally left the iron or Christmas lights on again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from App is v.poor. Works better with Amazon Echo I have been using WeMo devices for over five years. I have switches, light switches, and a Maker. The problem is connectivity from the app. It's very rare that all active devices (I have 7 in everyday use) are contactable when I open the app. It's very annoying when I try to report the problem that the app says it cannot submit a report despite everything else working just fine on my phone. I have excellent WiFi coverage (2 wireless access points) on both 2.4 and 5Ghz. It's also odd that Amazon Echo can usually still control devices the app says aren't responding. The app seems the weak link in the weMo ecosystem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great once connected but a bear to connect I have 4 WEMO smart plugs, they are great once connected but I routinely spend an hour connecting them. I like to move them around, for decorations, and it always makes me dread the setup. Most recently I’m trying to setup a plug for a Halloween display, this plug has been setup before, and it’s impossible. It’s asking me to scan the code while it’s plugged in but the code is on the back of the plug? But I figured out a workaround and took a picture of the code so I could scan that while the unit was plugged in. And still no luck. I’m on my second hour setting up a plug that was already set up earlier this year. You can do better than this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Super frustrating I bought this over a month ago and it worked fine with my lamp but then I acquired other cooler lights that I wanted to tell Alexa to switch on and off. That simple just move the switch to another outlet with another device. I would also like to say I am pretty tech savvy, but the struggle with this stupid plug is unbelievable. I am spending hours just trying to connect the thing and not to mention I live in town so I have at least 2 strong connections and it takes 5 minutes just to tell me it was unable to connect. I looked up what to do and it said restart it and whatever so I did so many many times and nothing works. In fact it still isn’t working. It’s extremely frustrating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Problematic I now own 8 wemo smart plugs. Several were fairly easy to install and use. Several were not. I use my Tablet to install and use my Assistant through voice control to manipulate the lights. Some wemos cannot even be found by my Tablet while attempting to install and they're 6 feet from another working wemo. My WiFi signal strength is excellent throughout the house. In every problem case, I've found that simply leaving the problem alone and waiting 24 hours, solves the problem. Another issue I have is that every few days when I use a voice command to alter lights, my Assistant says, "Sorry, I can't reach Wemo".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient once you get it working I bought the mini and a light switch to help manage my lights when I stay out later than I planned or when I go out of town. Right out the box it seemed simple enough to set up but it proved much more difficult. For some reason the plug wasn’t seeing my router and every self help thing I could find didn’t work. When I finally broke down and called tech support they did help me get it going but I needed to enable the “guest network” on my router and all I could think of was how that conversation would have gone if my dad who is NOT tech savvy made that call. Anyway, now that both devices are connected, it’s all good and I’m happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Wemo's I bought 2 Wemo mini smart plugs and one Wemo light switch for my outside lights... I have my outside lights on a schedule to turn on at dusk and off at dawn. I have one plug for our living room lamps and one for our bedroom lamps... all are tied to our Google Home. Because we leave for work while it's dark and we leave our dogs in our bedroom we have the bedroom lamps on a schedule to turn off the lights after it gets light. We use the Google home to turn on/off the living room lights and set a schedule up when we go on vacation. It was easy to setup and I'm about to get another one to control our patio lights... love that Wemo!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Bought 4 these, got 2 of them connected to my home network. They worked great at first on my home network. Then I tried them over cell network, they did not work. But later they worked on the home WiFi just fine just like before. Then I tried on a remote WiFi network with a more than adequate connection, they did not connect or work after multiple attempts. I looked for solutions, and found this to be a common problem. Now I'm away from home with no remote control as advertised. I don't want or need control only if I'm at home, I can do that manually. Waste of money.....I really want these to work. Yes I had the remote access set up too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from App doesn’t work, terrible device It is important to know that this device does not work w a 5ghz radio. With a Google Wifi system you have to unplug your parks and walk far enough away from the router so that your phone automatically connects to the 2.4 signal. After struggling for far too long to get the unit connected, apple HomeKit says that the device needs an update. However the Wemo app offers no options. There is a splash screen that says add a device, but none of the features of the app shown on the Belkin website show up (e.g., gear icon, nothing). The app is not functional, so I’m stuck with a product that forever cannot be updated apparently. Disappointing purchase.
