Linksys LAPAC2600 Hero Image

Eliminate bandwidth bottlenecks and streamline management in your office with the Linksys Business Pro Series Wireless AC2600 Dual-Band MU-MIMO Access Point (LAPAC2600). Ideal for high-density WLAN environments, the access point keeps your small to medium business running smoothly with combined speeds of up to 2.53 Gbps. It also greatly simplifies administration with its Clustering feature that lets you manage multiple access points from a single point of control.

The LAPAC2600 Access Point uses MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology to ensure multiple simultaneous connections. MU-MIMO provides a dedicated data stream for each connected client, so your employees won't have to compete with one another for bandwidth. Multiple users will be able to simultaneously engage in video conferencing, download large files, and perform other data-intensive tasks with minimal or no latency on their devices.

The LAPAC2600 Access Point leverages the latest Wireless-AC technology to ensure faster Wi-Fi speeds and increased productivity for your entire office. The access point features dual wireless bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and delivers combined speeds of up to 2.53 Gbps to support high-bandwidth activities such as video conferencing and cloud storage syncing.

Featuring support for 802.11r and 802.11k standards, the LAPAC2600 Access Point allows 802.11r-enabled client devices to roam seamlessly between access points. Your employees will be able to move freely across the office while conducting VoIP or video calls--without any interruptions due to dropped packets or missed handovers.

The LAPAC2600 Access Point allows centralized management via Clustering to reduce the cost and complexity of managing multiple wireless access points. By enabling you to establish and manage an entire cluster of access points from a single point of control, this feature greatly streamlines administration and can save hours of technical labor. You can use it to configure multiple access points simultaneously and centralize network security.

Control and customize guest Wi-Fi access with captive portal. The portal routes users to a special web page for authentication before they are allowed to access the Internet. Ideal for cafés, lobbies, and other Wi-Fi hotspots, this feature helps protect both your guests and your business from unwanted access.

The LAPAC2600 Access Point excels as a standalone access point and as a component of a larger wireless distribution system (WDS). It can also be used as a workgroup bridge to extend the range of your wireless coverage.

Thanks to its PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) capabilities, the LAPAC2600 Access Point can draw both power and data from a single Ethernet cable. There is no need for a separate power adapter or nearby electrical outlet: simply connect the LAPAC2600 to a PoE-enabled switch, and the access point can function using just one Ethernet cable. The LAPAC2600 Access Point also provides a Web administrative interface for intuitive installation and usage.

To ensure that your company's data is secure, the LAPAC2600 Access Point is equipped with an array of business-class security features. The access point gives your business full control over access rights with WPA/WPA2 security and 802.1X with RADIUS or Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service that provides administrators with a centralized way to authenticate users on the network. Rogue AP Detection helps administrators identify authorized access points across the network, while 802.1X Supplicant Authentication and MAC address filtering provide an additional layer of protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I expected I wanted good coverage over a large area and of course it works. I normally never write reviews but I was annoyed to keep seeing that, at the time of writing, the review that appears on top is a one star rating despite the person being really pleased with the product! Built quality is good. Setup was a breeze. Basically, set up the master, add the others to the cluster and the configuration gets pushed to the others. I'd planned a whole day to set them up, as it was my first time with the product but I'd finished within half an hour, manual reading included!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from iOS devices do not roam correctly There is an intermittent bug such that as an iOS device moves from one AP to another AP with the same SSID (ie. roaming between APs), it will sometimes not reconnect to the new AP. It sometimes just drops the wifi connection (so your iPhone in your pocket is now no longer on the Wifi network). Sometimes when you unlock the iPhone, it will reconnect to the closest AP, and sometimes you will need to go into Settings and select the SSID (at which point it connects immediately). With this behavior, it appears that the AP has a bug that rejects iOS devices when roaming under certain circumstances. According to the support forums, this bug has been around since mid 2017 at least, and so far no resolution from Linksys. Note that I had moved from Apple Express APs to these Linksys APs and had no roaming issues at all with the Apple Express units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Reliable Access Point I wanted to wait until I had time under my belt using this wireless access point before I wrote a review of this product. So far, I have NO complaints compared to Cisco WAPs I have used in the past. My last Cisco WAP would lock up frequently causing me to reset it all the time. This LAPAC2600 is very fast, easy to setup and most importantly, reliable!. This last Christmas we had a full house of family and friends using my wifi network with heavy traffic (facebook, skyping, surfing the web, etc.) and not one hiccup. This is a great WAP for home use, which is what I am. I cannot say what it will do under even heavier loads such as an office complex but so far, this is by far the best product I have used in a long time. I would definitely recommend this WAP to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Basically nice, but limitations in detail Bout 5 of them for establishing WiFi in our branch office. Everything is working well so far, but there is a major problem around the Clustering of a SSID. Devices, mainly iOS and macOS, do not connect to the next designated AP. We have a case opened for this issue since 6 months and have no solution yet... Even as most of the feature set is very nice, especially compared to the price, this miserable cluster roaming reliability really sucks.

Specifications are subject to change without notice. An active, customer-purchased Internet Service Provider broadband account is required for connection of this access point and other connected computers and devices to the Internet.
*Maximum performance derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications. Actual performance can vary due to a number of factors including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range, and coverage. Performance depends on many factors, conditions, and variables, including distance from the access point, volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, operating system used, mix of wireless products used, interference, and other adverse conditions.
The standard transmission rates—1733 Mbps (for 5 GHz), 800 Mbps (for 2.4 GHz), or 2.53 Gbps combined —are the physical data rates. Actual data throughput will be lower and may depend on the mix of wireless products used and external factors.
