Frame Burst and Enabling/Disabling Frame Burst

This article will explain to the user about Frame Burst and how to enable or disable the Frame Burst.

What is Frame Burst?

Frame Burst is a way to transmission technique supported by the draft 802.11e QoS specification. Frame Bursting increases the throughput of any (point-to-point) 802.11a/b/g link by reducing the overhead associated with the wireless transmission.

NOTE:  Frame Burst is not supported in WAG160N.

Enabling/Disabling Frame Burst Function

NOTE:  Frame Burst is enabled by default.
 

Step 1:
Open a web browser and go to the device's Web Based Set-up Utility.  For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
Once the web-based setup page appear, click Wireless > Advanced Wireless Settings and Enable/Disable Frame Burst.
