Connecting a WGA600N to a Linksys Router using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS)

Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) is used to enable users to understand Wi-Fi configuration and automatically configure security settings of new wireless networks, add devices and enable security. To setup WPS on your WGA600N follow the steps below.

There are two ways to connect the WGA600N to the Linksys Router

  1. Connecting the WGA600N using Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button
  2. Connecting the WGA600N using Wi-Fi Protected Setup Pin Number

Connecting the WGA600N using Protected Setup Button allows the game adapter to connect to the router the using the Security button.

Connecting the WGA600N using Protected Setup Pin Number allows the game adapter to connect the router using a PIN number.

To connect the WGA600N using Wi-Fi Protected Setup Button you need to perform two steps:

  1. Configuring Wi-Fi Protected Setup on the WGA600N
  2. Configuring Wi-Fi Protected Setup on the Linksys Router

Configuring Wi-Fi Protected Setup on the WGA600N

Step 1:
Connect the Wireless-N Game Adapter to Ethernet port of the router's Ethernet port.

NOTE: Make sure that the router has the Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature you may refer to the router documentation.

NOTE: The image may vary depending on the model number of the router.

Step 2:
Access the Wireless-N Game Adapter's web-based setup page.

Step 3:
When the game adapter's web-based setup page appears, click Advanced then Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

Step 4:
Under Wi-Fi Protected Setup click Enable.

Step 5:
Click Save Settings.

Step 6:
Press the Security button located in the front panel of the game adapter. After pressing the Security button, configure the WPS on the Linksys router. For instructions, follow the steps below.

Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
When the router's web-based setup page appears, click Wireless.

Step 3:
Select Wi-Fi Protected Setup then click the WPS button.

Connecting the WGA600N using Wi-Fi Protected Setup Pin Number

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is used to easily add a Gaming Adapter to a network using a PIN. If the PIN is changed by clicking the buttons below, the new PIN will be used in following Wi-Fi Protected Setup process.

To connect the WGA600N using Wi-Fi Protected Setup Pin Number you need to perform two steps:

  1. Checking PIN Settings of the WGA600N
  2. Configuring Wi-Fi Protected Security Pin on the Linksys Router

Checking PIN Settings of the WGA600N

Step 1:

Connect the Wireless-N Game Adapter to Ethernet port of the router's Ethernet port.

NOTE: Make sure that the router has the Wi-Fi Protected Setup feature you may refer to the router documentation.

NOTE: The image may vary depending on the model number of the router.

Step 2:
Access the Wireless-N Game Adapter's web-based setup page.

Step 3:
When the game adapter's web-based setup page appears, click Advanced then Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

Step 4:
Under Wi-Fi Protected Setup click Enable.

Step 5:
Copy the Current PIN number.

Step 6:
After saving the settings, configure the WPS on the Linksys router. For instructions, follow the steps below.

Configuring Wi-Fi Protected Security Pin on the Linksys Router

Step 1:
Access the router's web-based setup page. For instructions, click here.

Step 2:
When the router's web-based setup page appears, click Wireless.

Step 3:
Select  Wi-Fi Protected Setup then enter the Wi-Fi Protected Setup PIN number in the field.
