Changing or configuring the Wi-Fi Settings of the Linksys WRT32X
The Dashboard of the Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine displays a summary of your Wi-Fi Network. By default, the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz Wi-Fi names are combined. This makes it easy for your devices to switch between the two bands.
This article will guide you on how to change or configure the Wi-Fi Settings of the Linksys WRT32X.
Step 5:
You have now set up a new Wi-Fi Name and Password for the Linksys WRT32X. You may need to reconnect your wireless devices using the new Wi-Fi settings.
More Settings
The More Settings link allows you to set up the advance Wi-Fi Settings of the router.

This article will guide you on how to change or configure the Wi-Fi Settings of the Linksys WRT32X.

Select Wi-Fi Settings.
Step 3:
Enter your Wi-Fi Name (SSID) and Password for the combined 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Step 4:
If you would like to create separate Wi-Fi names for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, click More Settings (once selected, the label will change to Fewer Settings). Toggle the Use combined Wi-Fi names switch to the left. This will automatically append _5GHz to the 5 GHz Wi-Fi name.
NOTE: You may also create a unique Wi-Fi name for each Wi-Fi network.
Step 5:
Click Save.
You have now set up a new Wi-Fi Name and Password for the Linksys WRT32X. You may need to reconnect your wireless devices using the new Wi-Fi settings.
More Settings
The More Settings link allows you to set up the advance Wi-Fi Settings of the router.
- Wi-Fi Security Type – Allows you to select or change your wireless security type. You can select between WPA2-PSK or None.
- Wi-Fi Mode – The default and recommended setting is Mixed.
- 2.4 GHz options: Mixed, 802.11gn, 802.11n Only, 802.11g Only
- 5 GHz options: Mixed, 802.11ac Only, 802.11an Only, 802.11n Only, 802.11a Only
- Wi-Fi Channel Width – The recommended option is Auto.
- 2.4 GHz options: (Auto, 20MHz, 40MHz)
- 5GHz options: (Auto, 20MHz, 40MHz, 80MHz)
NOTE: The Linksys WRT32X supports the 160 MHz channel width. To select this channel, change the 5 GHz Wi-Fi Mode to 802.11ac only and then select any 5 GHz fixed channel. The 160 MHz option will then become available.
- Wi-Fi Channel – The recommended option is Auto.
NOTE: If your 5GHz clients do not support DFS channels, select any other channel besides 52-64, 100-140. If your clients do not see the 5GHz network, it’s possible the router may be using one of the DFS channels and your wireless client does not support it. To avoid this problem, simply use any other channel besides 52-64 and 100-140.
- Enable Wi-Fi – The default setting is ON. Toggle the switch to disable your Wi-Fi network.
- Enable WPS – The default setting is ON. This option allows you to disable or enable the WPS button on the back of the router.
