The default IP Address of the Linksys RE4100W is 192.168.1.1 and the username and password is admin.
 
NOTE: When the Linksys RE4100W is connected to your existing network, your wireless router will automatically assign a different IP Address and treat it as a DHCP client.

You can find the wireless MAC Address of your range extender in its web-based setup page. Go to Status > WLAN Statistics > Extender MAC address. 


NOTE: The MAC Address printed at the back of the extender is for the ethernet port not the wireless radio.

8. How do I configure my extender's IP Address?​

Configuring your extender's IP Address allows you to assign a static IP Address on your device. Every time you connect and reconnect to the wireless network, the extender will use the same IP Address.

Follow the steps below to change your IP Address:

Step 1:  
Access the range extender’s web-based setup page. 


Step 2:
Under the Wireless section, look for Extender IP Address.  

Step 3
Select Static IP on the drop-down menu.  

Step 4
Enter your new Internet IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway.

Step 5:
Click Save.

Here are some things you can do check the position of your router and extender:
  • For first-time setup, you may need to place the extender closer to the router. After you’ve set up your extender, you can unplug it and move it to the final location.
  • To reduce signal obstructions, try alternate locations for the router and extender.
  • Avoid placing the router and extender near metal objects, masonry walls, and reflective surfaces such as glass or mirrors, and other electronics that may cause signal interference.
  • If you’re using WPS to connect, wait until the WPS indicator stops blinking before trying to make the connection again.
2. What should I do when I cannot access the Linksys RE4100W?
 
If you cannot access the Linksys RE4100W, try the following troubleshooting methods:
  • Powercycle the range extender.
  • Move the range extender closer to your router.
  • Check your range extender’s IP Address on your router’s DHCP table and try to ping it.
  • Connect your computer to the extender’s LAN port and attempt to access it via the default IP Address and check the wireless settings.
  • Reset extender and go through setup again.
