1.  What is the Linksys Hydra Pro 6E, MR7500?

2.  What is Wi-Fi® 6E?

Wi-Fi 6E provides and supports 6 GHz spectrum features and capabilities including faster speeds and lower latency for compatible devices.

4.  Where can I find the router’s serial number?
 
The serial number is located on the sticker underneath the device.  
 

5.  Does the router have indicator lights?
 
Yes.  The router has two front panel indicator lights and lights on the back panel that indicate the activity and connectivity of your devices to the router.  To learn more, click

6.  Can the router be mounted on the wall?

Yes.  You can set the router on a desk or mount it to the wall.

7.  What can I connect to the USB port on the router?

The Linksys MR7500 has one USB 3.0 port for USB storage devices.  To learn more, click here. 

8.  What file formats does the USB storage feature support?

The Linksys MR7500 supports FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and HFS+ (journaled and non-journaled).

9.  How many ethernet ports are on the router?

The router has four ethernet ports for the LAN connection and one ethernet port for the WAN/internet connection.

10.  I am unable to connect to the 6 GHz radio band of the node, what could be the problem?

Your device must support a 6 GHz connection, otherwise, it will only connect to the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz band.  You can check with the manufacturer of your device to see if it supports a 6 GHz radio or if driver updates are needed.

2.  What are the requirements for setting up the router?

Below are the requirements for setting up the Linksys MR7500:

 
  • Internet connection via a modem or modem router (gateway)
  • The latest Linksys app
  • Linksys server account (for remote access)

3.  How do I access the router settings on the Linksys app?

4.  What is the default WiFi name and password of the router?

The default WiFi names of the router are LinksysSetupxxx and LinksysSetupxxx_5GHz (the xxx stands for the last three digits of the router’s MAC address).  Each node has unique pre-assigned WiFi passwords located at the bottom of the router.

5.  What is the router's default administrative password?

The default password of an unconfigured router is admin.
  

6.  How do I add a node to my network?

7.  How do I reset the router to its factory default settings?

There are two ways to reset the router to its factory default settings:

 
  • Hardware reset – Hold the reset button for 11 seconds.  Watch for the three slow red pulse lights, then release the reset button on the fourth red pulse.
  • Software reset – Log in to your Linksys server account to access the LinksysSmartWiFi.com page.  Under Router Settings, click Troubleshooting > Diagnostics, then, click Reset under Factory reset.
 
8.  Is the Linksys Mesh WiFi system compatible with Starlink?

Yes. For the Linksys router to work with Starlink, you will need a Starlink ethernet adapter which you can find in the Starlink shop. Connect one end of the ethernet cable to the Starlink ethernet adapter and the other end to the Internet port of your Linksys router. Learn how to set up the Linksys router with Starlink.

1.  What WiFi security options are supported on the router?

The security options for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands are the following:  WPA2™/WPA3™ Mixed Personal, WPA3 Personal Only, WPA2 Personal, Enhanced Open Only, Open and Enhanced Open, and Open.

For the 6 GHz radio, these are the options:  WPA3 Personal Only and Enhanced Open Only.


2.  Does the router allow VPN tunnels to pass through it?

Yes, VPN tunnels using IPSec, L2TP, and PPTP protocols pass through the router.

3.  Does the router support SPI firewall?

Yes. 

4.  Does the router support Parental Controls?

ADVANCED TROUBLESHOOTING


1.  How do I upgrade the router’s firmware?

The router has a feature that will upgrade the firmware automatically whenever a new version is available, and if by chance you disable this feature, you will get a prompt to update the firmware whenever a new firmware release is available. 

2.  Does the router support bridge mode?

3.  How do I access the storage device connected to the router?

To access the storage device, you need to first identify its IP address for SMB access.  To learn more, click here. 

4.  Can I connect a USB printer to the router?

No.  This is not supported.

5.  How do I safely eject my hard drive from the router?

To safely eject your hard drive from the router, simply click on the Eject option or its icon on the Linksys app or the router's LinksysSmartWiFi.com page.  To learn more, click here. 

6.  How do I secure my hard drive from unauthorized access?

You can enable the Authentication option for the external storage device and enter the following information:
  • Username – use a minimum of four and a maximum of 12 alphanumeric characters.
  • Password – use a minimum of four and a maximum of 50 alphanumeric characters
The characters must be alphanumeric or include valid characters such as an underscore ( _ ) or a dash ( - ).   

7.  Can I connect a USB storage device to the router and manage it as an FTP server or media server? 

No.  This is not supported.

8.  My Linksys mesh router isn't working with my ISP's 5G router.  What should I do? 

For the Linksys mesh router to work with a 5G router, your ISP must provide a 5G router with an ethernet port for connection to the parent node.

9.  Does this support IPv6 RD for its internet connection?

Yes. It supports IPv6 RD and 6to4 tunneling.
