Setting up the Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 USB Wi-Fi Adapter

Setting up the Linksys WUSB6400M AC1200 USB Wi-Fi Adapter is quick and easy using the Plug and Play Setup.  This article will help you install the driver automatically on a Windows® computer.

NOTE:  The Plug and Play setup ONLY supports Windows® operating systems.  To install the driver on a Mac® computer, use the Setup CD that comes with the package.  For instructions, click

Step 1:
Insert the Linksys WUSB6400M adapter into an available USB port on your computer.  The driver for Windows® 7, Windows® 8 / 8.1 and Windows® 10 will install automatically.
 
Step 2:
You will see the Installing device driver software message at the lower right-hand corner of your screen once the computer has detected and started installing the driver.

Step 3:
Once the driver is installed, click the Wireless User-added image icon on the system tray of your Desktop.
 
Step 4:
Select your wireless network name on the list of available networks then click Connect.
 
You may check Connect automatically to connect to the network automatically the next time the network is within range.

Step 5:
Enter your network security key or passphrase then, click Next.

NOTE:  It is recommended to disable your built-in wireless adapter to make sure you are using the Linksys WUSB6400M to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Also if you have a dual-band wireless network, connect to your 5 GHz wireless network for faster speeds.
