Meet the Linksys E2500

The Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router version 3 is a simultaneous dual-band router that lets you access the internet via wired and WiFi connection. It comes with Guest Access and Parental Controls features in the web-based setup page that provide added security to your home network. This router includes Linksys Connect Software that allows you to manage your WiFi easily. To learn more about the Linksys Connect Software, click here.

IMPORTANT: The Linksys E2500 v3 works only with the Linksys Connect v1.5.

Enhanced security features are included to help protect your data and privacy while connected online. This includes the following:
 
  • Wi-Fi Protected Access® 2 (WPA2™) security provides encryption for your WiFi.
  • Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) Firewall Protection blocks unwanted access to your Linksys E2500.
  • Network Address Translation (NAT) technology protects and allows your entire network to access the Internet using a single internet IP address.
 
NOTE: The IPv6 and IPv4 SPI Firewall Protection features are only available for firmware Ver.1.0.07. To obtain these features, you must upgrade the firmware of your router accordingly. For detailed instructions on upgrading your router’s firmware, click here.

USB port – With a USB storage device, you can easily share a disk storage or USB printer with other users in your network. To learn more about the USB feature of your router, click here.

Ethernet 1-4 (Green) – The LED flashes to indicate network activity on a particular port. It is solid green when an ethernet cable is plugged in to the ethernet port, and OFF when there is no connected ethernet cable.

Internet (Green) – The LED flashes to indicate network activity between the modem and the router. It is solid green when an ethernet cable is connected to the router’s Internet port but no data activity, and OFF when there is no connected ethernet cable on the internet port.

Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) button – If you have client devices, such as wireless printers, that support WPS , you can press the WPS button to automatically configure WiFi security for your network. To learn more, click

Power (Green) – The Power LED turns green when the router is powered ON. To power ON the router, simply attach the power cord into the Power port of the device and plug the other end into a power outlet. To power it OFF, unplug the power adapter from the power outlet.

Power – The Power port connects to the included power adapter.

Reset button – This button is located at the bottom of the router. This allows you to reset the router to its factory defaults. Press and hold the Reset button for approximately 5 seconds. You can also restore it to factory defaults from the Administration tab > Factory Defaults sub-tab on the router’s web-based setup page.
