Access point is showing offline on the Linksys Cloud Manager

Scenario

When accessing the Linksys Cloud Manager, the access points added are showing as offline.

Solution

Your access point shows as offline on the Linksys Cloud Manager due to any of the following reasons:

  • The access point is down or is not connected to the internet.
  • The access point was reset.
  • The Linksys Cloud Manager was disabled or re-enabled (for Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0 users)

To help fix this issue, follow these troubleshooting steps:

For Linksys Cloud Manager 1.0 users

Step 1:
Check if the Linksys Cloud Manager is enabled by accessing the access point's local interface.

Step 2:
If it shows as enabled, disable it to restore the access point to its default settings including its IP address.
Enable the Linksys Cloud Manager back once you regain access to the local interface.

If it shows as disabled,
enable it.

Step 3:

Access the Linksys Cloud Manager and delete the access point.

Step 4:
Once deleted,
add the access point again.

Your access point should now be showing as online on the Linksys Cloud Manager.  However, upgrading to Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0 is highly recommended.

For Linksys Cloud Manager 2.0 users

Step 1:
Restore the device to factory defaults.  Press and hold the reset button for longer than 15 seconds or until you see that the light indicator is blinking red.

Step 2:

Access the Linksys Cloud Manager.

Step 3:

Delete the access point from the Linksys Cloud Manager.

Step 4:
Once deleted,
add the access point again.

NOTE:  It is recommended to leave the access point's IP address to DHCP so it can automatically adapt to network changes like VLAN modifications or if there is a need to substitute your router or switch.

Your access point should now be showing as online on the Linksys Cloud Manager.
