Accessing the Linksys RE9000’s web-based setup page

The Linksys RE9000 Range Extender is a tri-band ethernet bridge and all-in-one range extender.  Accessing the web-based setup page of your Linksys RE9000 is done through following the steps below.

NOTE:  This article assumes that your Linksys RE9000 has been set up.  If you have not set it up, there are two ways you can do so.  You can either set it up to work as a range extender or an access point.  For instructions on how you can set it up to be on Range Extender mode, click here.  If you want to set it up to be on Access Point mode, click here.

Step 1:
Using a device that is connected to your range extender’s Wi-Fi, launch a browser.

Step 2:
In the Address bar of your browser, do one of three the methods below to log in to the Linksys RE9000’s web-based setup page.  Then press [ENTER].
  1. Enter "http://extender.linksys.com” in the Address bar.
  2. Enter “http://RE9000” (for Windows® users) or "http://RE9000.local" (for Mac® users) in the Address bar.
  3. Enter the Linksys RE9000’s IP address.
NOTES:
  • If you changed your Linksys RE9000’s name, then you will need to use the custom name (e.g., http://MyAP).
  • If the Linksys RE9000 does not detect a DHCP server, the default IP address is 192.168.1.1.  Otherwise, you will need to look up your range extender’s IP address in the DHCP table. If you are using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, click here
  • Be aware that, if you use the range extender's IP address for setup, you will loose connectivity to its setup page once connection to the network has been established.  You will need to re-access the setup page using your browser's Address bar.

    Step 3:
You will be prompted for an admin Password.  If you have changed your password, enter your customized password.  Otherwise, enter the default “admin” in the field then click Login.
